Just found this article... could be very good news for PC based audio and for that matter the hi-rez audio market. I wonder if a future gen of WMA will take DVD-A's place for hi-rez PCM audio...

I'd probably still stick with a discrete sound card to reduce electrical noise from the motherboard, but this is still a pretty welcome development!
