But before I do...I want to check with you dudes.

Using my Airhead 4.5 will I beable to tell the difference between my SR80s and the SR325?

Do the SR325 come default with these pads: http://www.headphone.com/layout.php?...tID=0060090005

?

Is it true the SR325 are actually more detailed than RS series?

Thank you!

You should be able to tell the difference.

Yes, those are the stock pads.

No, I don't think they are more detailed than the RS series.

1. Yes, I think you will. I can.
2. Yes.
3. I think they are have an elevated high end in comparison to the RS-1. Some people might perceive this as more detail. I just call it "brighter."

You know, I'd be interested in seeing a post where a Head-Fier has said, "No, don't buy it." And where something even more expensive wasn't suggested, of course. I wonder if it's happened. ...

If you decide to get the SR-325, try eBay. They usually go for around $200, plus or minus about $10. Probably the cheapest you'll find.

I have the Grado 325's, Senn HD 600 and Ety 4Ps. The Etys are the most detailed IMHO (may in fact be due to the incredible isolation as well). The Senns and Grado's are fairly different beasts, but I use both as the mood grabs me. I added the Equinox cable to the Senns though and have found myself not using the 325s so much anymore.

Some believe the 325s with flat pads are the way to go - I have never heard them that way so I can't comment. I do know you can make an approximation by reversing the comfy pads. Darkangel explains it elswhere. I might be willing to sell the 325's if you are seeking a deal on a used pair.
