I'm thinking of buying a set of Shure E5 yellow foamies for my Etys.
I read on some old post they were more comfortable and had a better sound.

Just have a question: I guess they also have an inner tube like the black ety foamies but, does it tend to stick out of the foam?
The Ety black foamies always tend to stick out and scratch my ears.

I haven't personally had a problem with this but the yellow foam fills more of the outter ear than the canal itself IME.

I'm considering doing exactly the same thing, but honestly don't know which size to order. The grey Ety foamies are a bit big for me, and the beige small foamies are too small for me. I don't know how this maps to the Shure sizes, and I don't know of anyone in the NJ/NY area who stocks them so I could take a look.
