I would like to respond to some information about people discussing making possible attempts to modify HM-801 Player.

Several customers or audio dealers/DIYers have contacted us about wishing to modify the HM-801 HiFiMAN. We have spent many months working diligently to develop the best possible design of the HM-801 in order to develop the best possible sounding unit at it's current price point and even above. We have painstakingly tested all of the elements and components, such as op-amps and capacitors, when we designed this player. We believe, without any uncertainty, that the HM-801 sound signature is the sound that most audiophiles and music aficionados will be extremely satisfied with.

Some customers want to attempt to modify the hM-801 to try to get a different sound signature that they might prefer. We wish to clarify that if any modifications are done to the player, other than replacing the headphone amplifier module, they will void the generous warranty that comes with the purchase of the player. We cannot be held responsible for any unauthorized modifications being done.

If customer's wish to swap out the amplifier module, using the specs stated by us in the manual, and the amp module becomes damaged, we will be glad to honor that, and offer the ability to buy a new amp module from us without any mark-up in price.

Thank you for your understanding.
