Hi,

My plan is to cut the replacement cable, split the wire for use on T-amp.

Before I start, one question should be clarified.

Is there any way to know which wire goes to the "+" and "-" end on the back of T-amp?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Sennheiser finall ship out my replacement cable yesterday, after 2 weeks' wait.

BTW, for the connector to the headphone, is it directional? any tools needed to pull out the old cable?

Let me know if all works well with the headphone + T-amp. Too afraid to try it out myself and blow out the drivers

Please don't forget to measure the DC offset, it's often quite high for usage with headphones.
You are probably already aware of the fact that the Tripath based amps respectively their filters aren't designed to drive a 300 Ohm headphone load.Just add resistors in parallel to fix the related problems, ~ 6 ohm/6 - 10 W are suitable.

I didn't know that the stock Senn HD 6X0 cable is four wires down to the plug.Could someone please confirm that the ground is combined inside the plug and not somewhere before?
If so the Senn HD 650 cable would be the better choice. It's known for being sonically better and besides of that it's cheaper than the 580/600 cable.

I'm tempted to connect the HDs to my truly balanced speaker/K1000s rig.
Choppping and splitting a cheap stock cable for a proof of concept would be a matter of 10 minutes.
I'd have to be careful with the volume knob though or the Senns are plasma.
