so my a900 pads are flaking off, any replacement pads to be found, perhaps of better material?

so anyone wanna organize a group buy of w1000 pads =)

so if the w1000 pads are actually that much better than the a900 pads, i would never have to replace those bastards right?

on the left you can see the stock D66 pads, they dont have the pleather around the trim that fits on the can.

The W1000 pads are pleather, which isn't much better than the A900 pads (in terms of comfort/sweat-inducing, that is, but they are better-made). The W2002 pads are real leather, and thus more comfy and somewhat less sweat inducing. However, neither will fit the A900 (though the W2002 pads will fit the W100/W1000 - my W100 was outfitted with W2002 earpads and I much preferred them to the stock W100 pads). The A1000 pads will indeed fit the A900, as Bangraman noted; my A900s had the A1000 pads, and they were more comfortable, less sweaty, more durable and simply more refined than the A900 pads - since they cost the same (last time I checked AudioCubes), why not go for the A1000 pads?

I know that they will fit, but aren't the A1000 pads larger than the A900 pads?

It might be difficult getting them on...but I say go for it!

The 'lips' for mounting are the same. The A900 pads have wider holes inside for the ear than the A1000. The A1000 (and w1000) pads are made of artificial leather than you sometimes find on gloves (Clarino). A lot of my downhill / motocross gloves have Clarino parts, which is breathable and tough.

Just a note: Isolation might be a tiny bit less with the A1000 pads, as the pad itself has larger 'crinkles' which means less seal between the skin and pad. On the plus side, lit's less sweaty.

As a new A700 owner worried about the future of my pads, I would appreciate it if someone whould answer this question as well (which pyro has asked twice in this thread)

What is the proper way to remove/replace pads on this series?
