I am thinking of purchasing a pair of closed headphones, it will be mainly used for house/trance music with a good amount of bass. I us my Grado 80i for everything else. Which route should I go? The a700 or m50 and why?

By the way, for now I will only be be powering the headphones with my Dell notebook via foobar(just installed wasapi) good stuff!! I actually have an amp + DAC at home but I wont be home for awhile.

Best,

Search Button!!!!

I have heard the M50's are better.

Both work fine w/o an amp; should be better w/ a DAC.

I like my A700s very much for dance/techno. The bass might be a little light, but I've grown accustomed to it and found it just right. The highs are "sparkly" (It's the only word I can think of). Mids a little recessed, but does not detract from electronica much.

Haven't heard the M50s. I've read the sound signature is similar, however. I guess it's down to what you like in a headphone, physically, and the differences in sound signature.
