Hello, I recently added a tube preamp to my setup, the Schiit lyr 2. I am using it with my Audioengine D1 and A5+ as a whole system. I have noticed that the sound has become more muddy, the soundstage reduced, and it lost some of its airiness. If I remove the Lyr 2 the sound is much clearer and has better imaging, and the airiness is restored. This also goes for my pair of AKG Q701's. By assumption, it should sound better with a preamp. Is it because the Lyr is too new, or does it not match my system? I have used it for about 50 hours.

So you have the Audioengine D1 running RCA to RCA from it to the Lyr 2 and the running (RCA to RCA) from the Lyr's line-output to the input on the A5+?
