Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a set of A2s, but I wondering:
1) Will I miss my bass?
2) Some have complained about muted highs which is definitely not a good thing for jazz....comments?

Thanks so much!!!
Sam

when i first hooked up my A2, i was disappointed by the lack of bass and felt they were a bit lifeless

however, after a day or two of listening, maybe physical break in?
i did appreciate the speakers a lot more

you will not miss your bass.
in fact, i discovered a bass slide in one of my favorite songs, a song that i've listened to hundreds of times and have even performed

Theres too much bass imo with the A2s. When I use stands with it, the bass definitely gets more balanced

see sig on what stands I use

The bass on the A2's is mostly mid-upper bass. There is a slight boost in the bass in that frequency range. So for some music, it will actually sound pretty full due to this bass lift, but it's still cutting off the lower-mid bass which gives some music its depth, and foundation. Whether you will miss this, who knows... I would always leave the option open for adding a small sub to it....not necessarily the Audionengine model, something like a Hsu STF1 for $300 later if not right away.
