Can someone please point me in the direction of a good place (online) to purchase volume pots and 1/4 inch headphone input components.

Head-Fi members Tangent and AMB each have online shops where you can buy the very popular ALPS RK097 or ALPS RK27 Pots.

You can get some good input jacks at Mouser, Digikey, or Jameco.
