A Truly Inspiring Article

That makes me want to go on a hike. I tell you, there is nothing in humdrum urban living to compare with some of the things I have seen on the trail:

seeing a bald eagle flying down a valley thru a screen of trees

looking at a bald eagle perched on a limb, and seeing that it is looking at you

finding a cougar track on the trail

watching animals [deer, beaver, opossums, raccoons, armadillos, red wolves, etc] at CLOSE quarters

hiking in a snowstorm, and seeing everything fade into a very quiet whiteness

I should have gone feral 30 years ago...

Very interesting read. I have done portions of the Appalachian Trail when in my teens and again in my mid twenty's. It was hard hiking and I did easier sections of North East Georgia and in the Smoky Mountains.

This guy with prosthetics is going all the way. Congratulations to him and his girlfriend.
