I pre-ordered HD820 at their SF store a while back and received it this Monday.
I made the decision after listened 800, 800s and 820 side by side in their store, I'm very happy with the purchase

Thanks for this review, I totally agree with what you’re saying. The HD800s were great, but way too bright and airy for me - haven’t tried any newer versions yet.

Audeze’s XC’s are awesome, being able to melt away into the music.
