Hello guys. So I am planning on changing my hardrive on my macbook pro. After I formatted my new hardrive (wd black scorpio) using a adapter i would like to somehow put all the data onto the hardrive. is it possible to do that so i can just swap out hardrives, and turn it on like nothing happened?

could i anyways do that with time machine? if i back everything up with time machine and swap out hardrives will it work?

thanks

Yes, I think you should be able to do that with Time Macine. The whole point of TIme Machine is that it allows you to make incremental backups all the time, so you can restore a single file from a specific point in time, or you can restore the whole hard drive. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Not that I've done anything like this.

Yeah, you should be able to do that.
I have not done it myself, so not all sure about the steps though. But I am sure a search will give you the details.
