i dont want nothing to happen to my beloved ah-d5000. i have a ultra micro amp.

If there is a loud 'thump' when the amp is powered on, you may be safer doing it with the headphones unplugged. In either case I turn the volume all the way down when I turn off the amp.

thx mate! it's not a loud thump..its more like a little "pluk" very little. i always turn the volume all the way down when turning the amp on and off in any case. the reason i leave the headphones plugged is for two reasons:
1. its more comfortable, dont need to plug it and unplug it over and over.
2. i thought that that "pluk" sound is better than the skraching sound(dont even sure i have that sound) when plugging the headphones when the amp is turned on already, but i guess its nothing.
thx again!
