Are you opposed to buying a used headphone? There are a couple of used DT880 headphones for sale from Amazon.
And I think the AKG K702 is also priced outside of your proposed budget, unless you consider getting one used. That and the M50X are the only two headphones from your list that I have heard, though I do not personally recommend the M50X for casual, general music listening. And if you're considering the K702, I recommend the AKG K7XX more for general music listening.

Why not 598?
Given all your stated criteria and your budget, I believe your best choice is the HD 598. The bass and treble are slightly rolled off, but the mids are flawless and soundstaging and imaging excellent. It's a very good choice for all your stated purposes..
