i am in a very similar situation. I have the MS2i's in the mail and will be using them with a D2(may get a zune120 as well). i dont know where to start for an amp. ive looked at the pico, hornet, xm4 but still have no idea. i know the best thing is to try it out, but im not in a situation where that is easy. any suggestions appreciated.

I have really enjoyed my MS-1's with my leckerton UHA-3. They sound great with it, and it also has a DAC that's fantasctic. Some of the reviews I read before I bought the UHA-3 praised it's DAC over just about everything else in it's class, but said the mini-3 had a better soundstage. I decided I would prefer the option of the DAC over the improved soundstage, and I'm very happy with the decision.
