A new way to get gapless playback on the iPod... err kinda

There's a lot of talk today about the OS X command line prog Apple Chapter Tool. You can read more about it here. While designed for creating chapters in AAC enhanced podcasts, if you scroll near the bottom to 'Using ChapterTool to create gapless playback CDs' you'll see other uses.

Assuming Doug will come through again, this will get easier and could be great. Like cuesheets, this would be a single joined file with track 'chapters'. Battery burn would be there with such a large track, but at least Mac users could create gapless with skip to next song options. Plus they should transfer to PC use (if something similar doesn't come out for Windows by the time it leaves beta).
