Hi. I want to ask this: does audio gear like amps and dacs get effected by the radiation caused from cellolar phones and other radio devices?
I mean...can it harm them? let's say I talk a lot with my phone really close to my gear. I can't hear any noise or something (like the one from a radio)
but I want to know that it can't do any damage whatsoever! my guess is that it is not, but what do i know?

I've never heard of anyone talk about damage done to their equipment by cell phone radiation. Even if it could cause damage, almost everything has shielding to stop it from being bombarded with EM radiation from everything else out there. The only downside I can think of is if you're recording and you get that "data noise" from a cell phone if a text message, call, etc. is incoming or outgoing.

Damage is unlikely, especially from the low output of a cell phone. They only put out 0.25W at most. However, they can and will injext RFI noise into a circuit.

thanks guys. so in case of RFI noises...the device itself doesn't get harm in anyway. after the noise is gone it like it never happend?

I get noises with an amp hooked up to my iPhone, if it's sending or recieving. Annoying but harmless.
