A funny description of the HD25-1...

www.music123.com has the HD25-1 listed as "The HD 25 SP-1 is a pair of closed dynamic headphones for persons with severe hearing impairment." Is this intended to mean anything?

Really loud! The HD25 appears to hold top honors in terms of maximum SPL at an unreal 146 dB!

Thats nearly the same volume as an explosion, if you're stood right near it isn't it?

Wow... that'd be great (if a little ear damaging) for HT

They are very loud, although the V700 is louder at any given power level. I prefer my very mildly modded V700 to the HD25 under most portable circumstances despite the slightly lower resolution of the 700... Less Grato. It is too hot to wear either at the moment though.
