My portable rig: Ipod Photo 60GB + Pocket Amp V2 + Shure E5C

If I connect amp to Ipod headphone jack/remote control instead of dock line-out will the sound be noticeably different or it's kind of sound the same? And will it cause any harm to the headphone jack or Ipod?
What're the benefits of connecting amp to line-out VS headphone jack/remote control?
If the sound isn't much improved then I guess I wouldn't be bothered to buy a Sendstation dock.

you won't harm anything by plugging the amp into the headphone jack, but using a line out significantly improves the sound. the line out is cleaner, more extended, more detailed and less congested. i would suggest not using the remote to plug your phones into, as i find that it is a detriment to the sound quality.
