This Christmas has been less of a vacation than it has been hard work, as I'm clearing out my house in Australia. Going through all my (and my parents') things I came across a cassette player I used to use when I was a child. I think I paid AU$30 for it back in the late '80s or early '90s. I remember that it would, as you used it, gradually slow down, until after an hour or so you wondered if something wasn't quite right with the music. I'm surprised that it wasn't binned years ago, but considering the quantity of stuff I've thrown out of the house in the last 5 years (at least 8 skips-worth) this isn't such a surprise.

I shan't embarrass myself by listing the music I used to listen to with it.
