Whipped this amp up in a rough test chassis to drive planars. Its a single ended 807 with 6j51p driver. Amps uses plate to plate feedback (Schade) with the 6j51p running in pentode mode. All screens are regulated with VR tubes. The driver tubes use regulated DC heaters

I tested the amp with the HE-4XX, which I thought sucked, but let me tell you, the extra juice has really really opened these suckers up! Wow, there is really solid bass now! Cant wait to try my LCD-2 CB with it!

I may switch out the 5U4 for a 5AR4 for some more voltage.

Output TX are custom from musicalpowersupplies with 8/32 ohm taps

I'm thinking of modding this and putting in a set of HY69, which are similar tubes only they are Thoriated Tungsten and are directly heated. I will have to DC heat the filaments which will probably require a seperate box to house the filament supplies.
