701 volume compared to 880 and 600?

I currently have some 600's and 880's and have never heard the 701's...commonly my wife and I like to use a splitter to listen to them together which works out fine since they both drive to comparable volumes but I have been thinking of selling the 880's and picking up a pair of 701's...so with the 701's being significantly lower impedance than the 880's would the volume difference be too much between the 600's and the 701's to listen to them at the same time?

The 65 ohms on the K701 is highly misleading, it drives like a 200-300 ohm headphone. On my Little Dot Micro+ amp, the volume ends up being adjusted to between the positions of the HD600 and DT880, to achieve the same volume level.

They adjust to approximately the same position, but the three "notches" are definitely there. I'd say it's a bit closer to the DT880 than the HD600.

It's the very low sensitivty that makes them hard to drive. Watch out - at max input power of 200mW they can eat 57mA of current!

More power to drive than the 600s, but lesser than the 880s to reach moderate levels.

didnt compare it to the 880s, but it is harder to drive than the 650. Me and a couple of people tested it on a GS-1 with high gain in a meet, and the 701 is about 90% as loud as the 650 at same volume

I tried the 701s and my 880 on your Millet and they were surprisingly close, with the 880s needing a little more turn.

The low sensitivity of the 701s seems to offset the low impedance in terms of volume control rotation.

I found the same thing out of my talisman. the 701's need a fraction of a turn less than the 880 to reach the same volume but they're both quite close.
