Thanks to a nice suggestion by blessingx, I went down to Office Depot and picked up a cheap $10CAD (around $7US) clear project case. The foam that came with my sr225s fits into it without modification but I shaved off about 1/3 of a cm so that it would fit perfectly. The headphones do not move around at all and I feel way better bringing these back and forth from the office and home. Here are some pics

Nice, looks like a pretty tight fit so I doubt RS-1's would fit though.

I own the wooden box..and even then, I feel its a bit flimsy.

I want something SOLID. No reason not to at these prices. HD600's come with a nice box, R10's come with the nicest case ever but I am sure it's costly. But something more than the paper would be nice. Offer it as an add on even! Regular price $695 USD for RS-1's, with box $750! or something. Many would go for it.

And for the PS-1's, they should come with something solid aluminum

yeah, i wouldnt mind having a "real" grado case. But as it is I am more than happy with what I came out with. It's pretty much perfect for what I will be using it for.

I dont see why not. Im not familiar with the 325/rs1/rs2 etc and if they are bigger.. but as long as u have the foam that came with them, just pop it in.

Would the bigger Grado models like the 325/RS2 and the RS1/PS1 fit in a case like that?

The 325/MS2/RS-2 all have longer air chambers, about a half inch longer than the lower models.

The RS-1/MSP/PS-1 have longer air chambers about one inch longer than the lower models and half inch longer than the 325/MS2/RS-2.

thanks KR for the linkage.

however, unfortunately i'm not based in the US, so the shipping costs would probably negate the initial low price.

however, i have decided to seek out a furniture maker and get a custom box made to fit the foam insert. i'm thinking of a light-coloured wood to match my ms-2's aluminium chambers. any suggestions?
