Hmm, i wonder what we can expect from this? I don't see Apple, Rio or Creative upgrading their slim line mp3 players with this drive, but maybe some other brands?

the Zen Micro Photo (or whatever it's called) will have the 6 gig drive.

Well that's stupid... pay 30 dollars more and get 3 more gigs.

Would be nice if some DAP maker would take 1GB flash arrays and stack them in a microdrive player housing though. Mmm, battery life.

Yes, but whit flash based player you can use that while running,skiing etc... without worrying about damaging the disk.

i doubt it..much of what dictates the size of harddrive players is the actual hard drive. flash players are much smaller. I would certainly hope they wouldnt make a flash player as big as the micro....though it's possible

Actually I believe that the 1 GB flash Micro will be the same size as the hard drive Micros.
