Hello
I have some 6as7 and 6sn7 tube not being used and would like to build my first headphone amp. Does any member here has any schematic using 6as7 as power tube and 6sn7 as driver tube.

I would expect the Menace to sound quite good, probably significantly better than the offerings from Woo because of the higher current run in the 6080's and the direct coupling. To top it off, using an active load on the driver stage would be even better!

Also DC heating at least the 6SN7's would be a good idea, and at least trying SS rectification.

I'll try to get my act together when I get back from vacation and post the schematic for the MenaceTC Lite (pics at the end of the linked thread above). It's easier and much less expensive to build compared with the original.

This is my highly modified SP Extreme clone.

With regulated B+

I used one of Pete Millett's regulated heater supplies for the 6sn7 with it's own independent transformer and elevated ac for the 6as7 heaters. Originally I used the same pot the Extreme had but now I want to change it for a 50k one which I think works better.
