Dear Headfiers,

Want to purchase the Sony zx507 dap and to use it with 64 Audio U12t. I'll mostly use Amazon Music HD along with stored flac files.

How does it sound ? Does it matches good with U12t. I would really appreciate if you share your experiences.

I used to run U12t with ZX300a, which should’ve sounded close enough to the ZX507. Generally the DAP has a warmish sound, which IMO made the U12t a bit too dark. The DAP’s extension was also not too great, when I switched to the Luxury Precision W2 I definitely heard more subbass and a much cleaner presentation overall. The functionality of the Sony DAP was definitely unbeatable though, despite not being a great pairing with the IEMs.

Thank you so much for replying. Seems zx507 or 300a works best with their iems only. Probably Sony ier-z1r sounds best with them and makes a perfect match. I almost decided to purchase it yesterday. Can you suggest any DAP which works best with u12t. Streaming from Amazon Music hd is my is my preference.

I personally haven't tried many DAPs, but M11 Pro has been a pretty good one given its clean, analytical sound and decent Android system. DX160 is also a pretty popular choice with sonic qualities that beat out the rest in its price point, although apparently its system is pretty buggy and runs quite hot.

I use the Fiio m15 with the u12t's and I have no complaints.

Thanks for posting. Will check m15 also thinking about ibasso dx300 heard lot of good things about it.
