I just bought a 5G ipod for work, and silly me didn't know that you needed to buy a cable to use the lineout. What lineout cable should I get to pair my 5G ipod, pa2v2 and akg 51dj? I'm looking to spend $30-$40 at most.

You are looking for a dock connection to mini plug. Not mini plug to mini plug. Correct?

Wallstreet, I fell your pain. Unfortunity, you're not going to be able to get out of this so cheap. I bought a Sik dock connection to firewire cable (you need usb) for $20.00. (See: http://store.sik.com)

After much prodding and with tear-filled eyes, I bought an $85.00 custom made cable. Night and Day. One of the best $85.00 I every spent. Sorry!

Yes, dock to mini or something that allows me to connect my ipod's lineout to my amp via an interconnect.

I don't think that an $85 custom made cable makes sense for my work setup. The 81dj cablining is quite thin and I don't think I would get any benefit from custom cables unless I recable the 81dj, or get better closed cans.

Has anyone here used the pocket dock lineout/usb? https://www.sendstation.com/us/produ...neout-usb.html
This looks to be a little more in my price range, and headroom mentions it in their ipod section.

I agree. The pocket dock is a better head than the Sik connection.

the PocketDock does not fit my ShowCase 5g case and the Nyko fits the case

Hi, I have the 5G Showcase and a Pocketdock, and the fit is fine. There is actually plenty of room. The old Showcase I had for my 4G iPod didn't fit the Pocketdock, but the new Showcase has an oversized opening to allow for after-market docking accessories. -CK

Just tried it, does not fit, no way, however I see you have a 60GB, I have a 30GB, maybe that's the diff.

I'm not competent enough to re-terminate a cable.

How does the universal docks lineout quality compare to the pocket dock and the bling bling?
