Right now I have the ATH-A900 and am upgrading them but haven't decided what I want to get. I listen mainly to electronic and rock genres, and have been pretty happy with the A900s, but I could use a bit more bass. I would prefer closed headphones over open, and they would be running from my sound card or through my Icon Mobile amp, and portability is a plus but not necessary since I would be upgrading from zero

. I will mostly be using them for music and gaming.

My top choice right now are the Ultrasone PRO 900 because they should have the warm sound signature I'm looking for, and I haven't seen anything about an amp being necessary for them like with others I was looking at like the HD650 and D2000/5000. Any suggestions?

the D2000's do well with electronic. if you're going the denon route, instead of getting the D5000 i'd save the money and just get the D2000. you can use the extra money you saved to modify it (wood cups, new cable, etc) which is the only difference between the D2000 and D5000 anyways.

also, the HD650 is open if that's a concern for you. can't speak for the pro 900.
