I have recently got a SE846, looking to get a dap for it. Any suggestions under 400$?

Looking at fiio x3 and x5. Seems nice, I also need a dac which this will also do.

Are they any good? Or should I go more high end for these iems

The SE846 are very accurate (and cool sounding with the white filter) - there's a chance an AK120/846 combo might be a bit too accurate and strident.
 
I got a good balance with the SE846 and the Fiio X3, but that's my taste talking, you might be different.
 
As you have the IEMs, why not demo the players - is that possible where you are?

Hi, thanks for the help. I finally decided on the fiio x5. As I heard the x5 when used as a Dac is more accurate than the x3. One of my friends happen to have a x3, would make for an interesting comparison
