I'm working on a 2nd audio setup for the office. At home I have:
  • Soundblaster Z -> Optical output -> Schiit Modi2Uber/Magni2Uber stack -> Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro
  • Soundblaster Z -> sub/pre 3.5mm output -> Buttkicker Gamer 2
I love the setup, it has 0 noise floor, everything is clear and distinct, and the buttkicker makes the bass powerful without any negative impact on the audio itself. I'm looking for something similar in quality for the office but possibly more portable or convenient, or if a wired dac/amp setup then maybe something a little different just for variety. I care about noise isolation (so that others can't hear me) but not necessarily about noise cancellation. If it has noise cancellation that's fine as long as it doesn't degrade audio quality or can be turned off if it does, but if it doesn't have it I don't care. Here are some of the setups I've been considering.
  • Fulla 3/Hel + DT 770 (80 or 250? much cheaper, not as good, but also less worried about somebody stealing or messing with it)
  • 2nd DT 1770 + Schiit 3 stack (easy win, I know what I'm getting, but nothing new and not portable)
  • Focal Elegia + ? (more expensive, need to wait for a sale price or go grey market, not sure how Focal house/Elegia sounds compared to 1770 pro, might be nice for variety though?)
  • Something wireless, still going through reviews but maybe somebody can recommend for or against...
  • B&W PX7
  • Dali IO-6
  • Momentum 3
  • Sony XM3
  • ???
For wireless I'm worried about bluetooth quality. I'm out-of-date though so maybe it isn't a problem these days? I think one of those supports wireless and wired which is nice but at the same time if it supports wired and sounds better that way I'd probably always use that and if I'm doing that I might as well just get an even better dedicated wired setup. I'm not really sure. Anyone point me in the right direction? As I go through more reviews I'm going more and more in circles.

Soundmagic HP151 headphones, they are like an improved DT770.
