Ok now that I got your attention audiophiles: Calm down, there's a 30 day return policy. ]

Honestly though, for noise cancellation...there second to none.

I study a lot with headphones, so I figured lemme try these out and see if I like them. I really like them, and there really comfortable. But the sound...is a little flat. Stupid flat. At least for the music I hear (RnB, Rap, Rock). I have the Shure SE210 (which I've come to love), and they clarity is GREATLY better then these. The bass on it though...another story. I have deal't with them for the past 2 years, and right now there at Shure getting my 2 year replacement in before the warranty expires.

After using these for about a week, I like the noise cancelling feature; but are they really needed for me? I don't travel much, and I'm always listening to music if I have my headphones (don't see why your headphones are on your head otherwise) on so the music sort of does that job anyway. I am looking for some sick IEM's, that I can return these for and get those instead. I understand that they might not be available at WorstBuy, but I can probably sell my gift card on Craigslist for 20 bucks less.

BTW I listen to most of my music through my iPhone, and a in-line microphone wouldn't kill (I could always get a separate one). Any ideas guys? I've searched, and searched....

for best buy, ask them about the monster miles davis. They normally sell them for $400, but if you find a nice rep, I have had them knock the price down on certain things; example, my friend just bought one of those new dre studio pro's(the $400 version) and he got %20 off just by asking. I'm sure they'll wiggle with you since they dont sell the MD's frequently, specially if you tell them that amazon and the monster website sells them for $300 quite frequently

Edit.
Ok, I honestly did not read the last paragraph of your post. So you have already thought of the idea of selling your gift card. I would consider that route. I have also heard very good things about the Miles Davis earbuds. I however try to never buy Monster products. This thread might help you out as far as earbuds goes.

I do have to agree with Erik on both points. I tend to like IEMs because they give me enough dBs with studying without blowing my ears out because I want to drown out the noisy kids in the library. Also bose usually gives a BASS heavy sound signature. Fat and muddy to be exact. Not that it is a bad thing to certain people, but it is a little overwhelming for me. The noise cancelling kind of has a recoil of nulling out some of the highs (some mids) because that is what the noise cancelling is for (most of the lows are canceled out from the seal made from the foam and your head. At higher frequency, mids and highs, the sound is able to slip through. Reason for the sound canceling for the high and mid frequency). If you are looking for good headphones in Best Buy go for SKULL CANDY! lol j/k j/k (probably going to get flamed for that. Seriously don't since they are cheaply built lol)

I would suggest going for the Miles Davis Tributes (very nice sound signature, best dynamic heard to date. Sparkling and bright highs and balanced lows. Very hard to find these characteristics with the dynamics from frequency to frequency.), The MT pro Golds (Fairly bass bias. Good for the music you enjoy. Makes it "fun"), or you can get the Senny IE8s online only (Also bass heavy. I'm a turbine guy so I would of went for the tributes. I haven't heard the IE8s but I've only heard stories. I've heard the first 2 so I can only make judgements on those). The first 2 you can get in the store.

I guess muddy is a good word. Its not horrible sound quality its just not great. I probably went with "flat" because Im used to the shures amazing highs and the beats studio headphones i hads bass (which is almost all they have). I might check out the gold m davis

The MILES DAVIS are $399! For monster!? So its not okay to spend that money on Bose but Monster yes?

hehe, you wouldnt think they're good based on the name, eh? I think we all expected the same criticizm; but truth is, its a top performing IEM. Great clarity, without being shrilly or fatiguing, and about the best controlled low end I have heard. bass texture is arguably better than the sennheisers. If you were to go between the IE8 and MD's and pay Best Buy retail, I'd highly reccomend the MD's on the account of them being so much more fun and engaging than the sennheisers.
Amazon currently has them for $300 right now. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them at that price.

PS: they absolutely murder the beats studio and studio pro headphones in the SQ department.

Yea, the monster turbines are pretty good, but the beats aren't...Funny how they come from the same company.  One is just mainstream and popular, and the other for us audiophiles.  It's like a well-kept secret.

Able Planet NC1000 Clear Harmony's are better, same noise isolation, better sound quality, same price.
