Is it a HDD or a flashdrive player?

How's its sound quality vs. 5.5g and 6g classic 80GB iPods?

Do you have to pay a monthly fee for internet access as with the iPhone?

Flash

Comparable- I think it is above average. Some will disagree.

Nope- just need an active wi fi network.

It's flash, no monthly fees, it's normal WiFi like on a laptop.

The SQ is okay from the iTouch, it's a bit bassy but it's not bad by any means, but not good either. I think the line-out is around the same quality as the Classic though, never tried it myself yet. I've only tried it via headphone out.

The line out quality is okay if you're listening to loud music. Classical listeners will want to look for something with less white noise though. I notice the white noise a lot but that could be because I'm using super sensitive IEMs.

How much of the 32GB does running wi fi/'net take?

The line-out seems basically equal to that of my old 5G, though perhaps a bit more bassy. I didn't have them at the same time for A/B comparisons. In any case, I'm happy. The interface and PDA functions are the best that I have ever used.

I think he meant GBs, you should have around 29GBs of memory left. The iTouch firmware itself is around 500 MBs. I don't think browsing the web on the Safari takes any memory on the 32GBs of flash though, probably only on its onboard RAM.
