the zune doesn't have line out? that sucks...no go for me on that one. i need a player that has line out as well. and no im not using 80GB for videos...idon't have a single video on my ipod at i'm at like 25GB. lossless takes up alot of space and i have alot of music. the zune is nice but i most def want a player that has line out.

You might be suprised to find that you can use the headphone out of the Zune to an amp w/ very nice results . I have a Zune 80 that I'm using w/ an entry level amp(HeadRoom TAH) & either UM2 IEMs or Beyer DT 770s to play back WMA Lossless music that I am pretty happy with. I'm curious as to how my rig might sound with an even better amp. Having a DAP without an actual lineout may not be as much of a necessity as it is with the Ipods . As is often mentioned here & elsewhere YMMV, but give it a try .

Why you don't change the hard drive (for 80G) and batterie in the same time ?
you have to change the back panel too.
like that, you'll have a new 5G with a larger hard drive.

I recently had this same issue with space. I went a flash based route with a Cowon D2 + some odd number of 16GB SDHC cards. I have a small case for the cards and the D2. I decided that route instead of HD based since I can seperate the storage from the player; if I accidently destroy my D2 I only have to buy another D2, which is a whole lot cheaper than a 80GB/160GB iPod or Archos, heh. As for SQ, I can't detail that much on it since I've only had it for a week or so, but on my SR80s, it sounds pretty good with 320 mp3 and FLAC. So that might be a viable route if you don't mind the cards; I know a lot of people don't like it though, heh.

If you absolutely didn't need line out, I would totally recommend the Zune. My friends were so impressed with the interface they asked me to order some for them!
