I have the itch for a SET 300B amp, prefer with HP-out jack, but speaker taps only would be ok for the right model. I want the classic 300B sound, silky smooth and seducing, not neutral and solid state like. Happy to look at a kit build, but I don't want to spend more than about $2k without tubes. Any suggestions please?

A few suggestions from this thread. Some of the other manufacturers in that thread may offer 300B custom builds on request as well. Haven't heard any of the amps below, so can't say if their sound signature is what you're after.

Witin budget:
Fluxion GM-2
White Bird Amplification Virtus 300B,
Elekit TU-8600 (kit or semi/fully assembled)

Above budget:
Halgorythme Bloc Stéréo SE 300B
Ampsandsound Agartha 2.0
Pier Audio MS-300 HD

You could try to contact him through canuckaudiomart (not sure how it works there), ebay, or the two gmail-addresses at the bottom of this post. It seems his has only 3 active listings at the moment. None of them is the GM-2, but I assume you can order one, with some lead time. The review-link below the gmail-addresses as well as the canuckmart feedback will tell you a little about the man behind the brand.

All the 300b headamps I know of, almost all start at $3,000
Eddie Current, Cayin, Woo Audio.

There always is an option to try cheaper Chinese models that have no presence in the states, which do come around $2,000.
Though you'd be the first to know if they are of good quality or not.

The 300 B is a great tube, probably agreed by most to be the best. But there are others - 807s, 6550, KT88's, that can be run in triode and get mighty close to the sound you are looking for.

That would multiply your options used and new, and get you some nice choices below $2k (used).

I had a VTL 120/50 (50 in triode) w/ 807's back in the mid/late 90's. It was pretty slick along the lines you are considering I would wager.
