As the title states, I have approx. $300 to spend on a setup...
I will be using this on my computer probably 98% of the time, and all I have is sound coming from my motherboard currently. I also have an older creative X-fi gamer which seemed to not sound as good if that makes any difference.
It will probably be an even split between gaming, movies, and music listening. I'm not too concerned about a wide sound stage and having directional audio for gaming however.
In the past I was using the Sennheiser HD555 until one of the ears had gone out a number of months ago. I really enjoyed the comfort but don't have much else to comment on that headset.
What would people recommend with that budget? I figured it would probably be a Headphone amp and a good pair of headphones, but I'm completely open to all ideas.
