Hey all,

Have a stupid question - what's the difference between the 3.5mm and 2.5mm line one?

I've just ordered an AK SR25 and it has both. I'm getting some replacement cables from Aliexpress so wandered which ones I should get, and why?

2.5 mm is balanced. 3.5 is not. What cables do your headphones have?

It's a 2 pin connector, so I can swap it out for either - the AK SR25 can accept either..

I would suggest the 2.5 mm then. It will output more power out of the balanced thus better sound. That’s the idea anyway.

Balanced won't always sound better to everyone's preference though. I prefer the 3.5mm output of the SP2000 rather than the 2.5mm output since the 3.5mm sounded better to my preferences. Then again, it could be that the 3.5mm out of the SR25 is inferior to the 2.5mm thus it's better to go balanced with that DAP

I’m in the same boat as you.

I have a pair of Campfire Andromeda’s and have heard using a 2.5mm balanced cable On the SR25 will widen the soundstage and sound slightly better.
