What you described sounds like the Creative Zen Micro, except you can only use a maximum of 2GB as a portable HD. I got mine from ebuyer for $230, and i cant be more pleased.
You could consider the new iRiver Hxx models. They offer 1, 5, 10, and 20GB models. It won't be available until the end of next month here in the States but it's smaller than the iPod mini, has a color screen and a FM tuner.
The Motorola M500 has an FM tuner and is a 5GB player. It is essentially a Rio Carbon (very similar firmware) with an FM tuner/recorder instead of a voice recorder. Plus it has a 1 year warranty instead of the Carbon's 90 day warranty.
