2x 7815 as dual-psu?

is it possible to use 2x 7815 fixed voltage regulators, bridge +15v and 0v to get ground and use the remaining outs as -/+15v? i know, you can do this with the lm317, but 78xx-regulators use ground as reference other than the lm317.

(in fact i've build such a psu, but one regulator died. maybe it was just a stupid idea...?)

Yes you can do it just like you would a LM317. Be careful not to short circuit the mountings tab to each other (or for that matter, to other points in the circuit).
