If you find yourself using them a lot, you might get the zen 2.0 eventually, and the bass is way huger and the stage as well. I'm using mine right now! it's bigger than the 90ex -> 7550 difference IMO (the relative improvement between the monk and zen)

I know i'm in a minority here, but i really don't see what's so special about these Monks. Got a pair of the original ones and they sound plasticky and hollow, not to mention the horrendous discomfort of fitting them.

I don't get how people can compare them to headphones that cost more than 20$, is this some kind of a joke?  That's about the value i would see them in the max 20$ range. Now, don't get me wrong - they are not bad, especially for 5$, but come on... I don't know what do you people had listen to before, but all my gear is better than these. Actually, all headphones and in-ears i ever had are better than the Monks, maybe except for the included earbuds that came with the old phones.

You all say best 8$ ever spent, i say 8$ wasted. I doubt i will ever try the Monk+. Eventually, you get what you pay for.

I respect that VE has tried to make something interesting, but, these to me are meh.

Our condolences to you for embezzlement of $ 8, but what you wrote it? Share alternative for people matching the value in this form factor and prices, lol

Sorry if you took it personal. This is the VE thread, and i own a VE Monk, so like the hundreds of people who shared their positive experience about this product, I believe that neutral or negative opinions should be shared as well.

It;s not about the 8$, it's about the surreal magical hype that surrounds these earbuds, and I just can't see it.

As far as comparisons go, KZ Hds1 are more enjoyable, comfortable and roughly the same price point.

Man, I'm really feeling lucky that I don't have the need to say that something is better than something else all the time. To me saying that about different earphones/IEM's /headphones is like saying it about food, like pasta is better than pizza and I'm lucky to enjoy most food (and it shows ;))as well as both the Monks.

You're obviously trolling but I'll play along for while. First of all you said it yourself they don't fit you and with no proper fit no proper sound. Second of all your bitterness towards everyone else that enjoys them (and that is indeed most of the people that have tried them) is fascinating and the fact that you believe that they're all wrong and you're right is even more so. Be a man/woman and take that $8 loss and move on.

better alternative imho.

I understand that you are shocked and offended that someone dared to bash the earbuds you so proudly appreciate, but tastes are not debatable. Like i said before, it's not about the money. Most likely the hype raised my expectations too high, and well - it is what it is.

I would try out a VE iem when and if they would come up with something with a decent price.

Fit is imperative to sound dude. It always is. If you don't get the right fit you won't get the right sound.

Which is why I'm still waiting on my local contact to stitch me up with a set of expansion pack. Without it I have to press the buds into my ears to "enjoy" them. Not much of enjoyment there.

If the loss of $8 is a big deal to you I'd suggest considering a different hobby.

If earbuds don't fit you I'd suggest not buying any.

If you've got a problem with people enjoying something that you don't like I'd suggest to stay away from public forums on the Internet.

Life is full of wonderful choices ;)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion gentlemen.  And just because it differs to ones own does not mean the person is trolling.
