Just ordered these, will take a least a week to ship :S but the reason why i went with these over HD800s was just one guys comment that imaging is more accurate on these. And i do want to try something else than what most people do. Generally hd800s has more favourable reviews tough, but appearance matters to me and these look nice in pictures. Paid 1480e with extra cable, considering on buying balanced cable also.
Welcome to the party! There are some rare properties with these cans.
Once used to, it's hard to find satisfaction from other headphones...

Definitely more accurate than the HD800s imo. Doesn't have the diffuse SS of the HD800, and is more precise, and certainly more transparent imo. I still love the HD800 for games and movies, but is now my #2 in that regard behind the ADX5000.

Having extensively listened to multiple $3k+ headphones these are for me the bargain of the Summit Fi arena. Now I do have a preference for the AT house sound as I am totally regretting selling my w30000any.

While the lcd5 is better and a step up and the he1000se maybe the safest recommend as the best all around headphone that mates with most rigs, the adx5000 is simply stunning at its price. It holds its own in many areas with headphones in what has become the high middle totl class.

I come from banally simple "nothing is perfect" perspective. And these hp strike perfect balance between price>comfort>performance. Its also very revealing headphone which is a great tool if that's what's on your list of pros. Cons that come with owning these, aren't difficult to overcome or address with gentle and calculated touch.
And like everything in life, subjective opinions and preferences are exactly that, ......subjective. I get people that appreciate these hp and those who aren't particularly found of them. That's the beauty of individualism and perks of owning that, what fits you best.

Curious what people are using for eq setting for the adx5000, this is what I'm using to fill in the bottom end and reduce the slightly hot top end

Has anyone tried out HDC114A, the official balanced 4.4mm cable? Curious if it solves the reported issues of the stock cable (noise) and the official XLR cable (heavy).

I'm looking to get an ADX5000 and trying to see how much I'd have to potentially budget for a new cable if the stock ones don't work out.

So I'm 4 years late to the party but boy do I love these cans! Audio Technica was never in my "audiophile" realm of consideration but a chance encounter with the ADX5K through my local dealer literally opened up my ears 😀

I'm now looking at getting tube amps to really unleash them, leaning towards the Cayin HA-6A which I really enjoyed at the dealer, will also test AT's own BHA100 for a more sensibly priced option.

Any other tube amp pairings that worked well for you guys?

Pics or it didn't happen:

"Problem" with these cans is that they are so damn resolving and can scale up so well with better cables and sources, that it opens up a rabbit hole 😆

I also managed to audition the Cayin HA6A and AT BHA100 tube amps and in summary, the ADX5Ks really soars with the Cayin - the soundstage really opens up holographically and female voices sounds oh so sweet and angelic. As much as I wanted to like the AT in-house pair up, it was a no contest and frankly I don't think it offers much more than my existing Xduoo TA-20. Time to raid my piggy bank 😓

Came in today along with RME ADI-2 DAC FS!

Will go with this setup for now, and possibly go for a separate amp with balanced output down the line.

It would be interesting to hear your feedback on this pairing.
