So Vsonic also now steps into the game of releasing close to 1K$ universals. I wonder how much of it has to do with actual innovation/technology rather than just following the trend of having a flagship with a price tag of ~1K$. However, given how their budget/mid level iems perform, I have to say I am excited to hear what the VSD9 can bring to the table. It must be quite hard to manufacture for Vsonic, judging from their only 300 sets limit.
 
Yet another iteration of the GR07. I think Vsonic should leave the GR07 behind as a legacy rather than keeping on releasing various versions of it.

There has to be a bit more infrastructure - and continuity in their corporate culture before I'd dream of dropping $800 on a Vsonic IEM - just because they can make a $50 IEM punch above its weight, doesn't mean there will be equivalent (or adequate) value in something they bring to market that kind of money. To date I have not seen anything they have built that leads me to believe they can produce such an item. It boggles the mind - they have 10 IEMs with the most expensive one being a bit over $200 - and it is a tuned TWFK. The wire is typical Vsonic. 
 
There has to be a professional rollout - they have to build some sort of cachet into the product - there are a lot of stumbling blocks here. Just because Shure and Westone and AKG and Sennheiser make $1K IEMs - doesn't mean it's "Vsonic's turn" - There needs to be a compelling reason for this to exist - not because they will offer $1K sound for $800 (while making it clear by the build where the savings went)
 
I guess it would have to be pretty damned compelling for me to consider it - their track record doesn't grant them this kind of benefit of the doubt. They are going to have to prove something (to me).

I think they will use just GR07 shell with new driver.
 
If the drivers are hand made specially the 200ohm once I guess they are labor intensive and thats why priced higher.

You mean a new model with a different name and driver but a GR07 shell? I personally think the GR07 style shell with adjustable nozzle is superior to the VSD3/5 style of housing so it may be it actually is better. 
 
BTW, the GR07 outperforms the Westone and Shure 3 driver models, IMO of course

Nothing about the price of VSD7 according to this news. But I'm with a lot of other headfiers. I still hold my confidence on those 800 USD sets from VSONIC. I don't think they are ready to enter market like that high.

I Agee, I can't see paying that much more money and believing that it perform say 5 times better than th gr07. That's an awful lot of money. Customs could be had for that & less. Just my two cents.

I probably agree with both of you. However, Vsonic to me has always been about value - almost their entire line up is touted as having a level of performance that punches well above their respective price brackets. I think it will be interesting to see what such a value oriented company can bring to the high end segment of the market.

So far, all the Vsonics I've heard have harsh, sibilant treble to my ears, that I find fatiguing over the long term. Detailed? Yes. Smooth? Not so much.
