Just got the new moto x, its a great phone so far. I have been loading various types of music on it to see what it can play since I have not seen any official specs showing what it supports. It plays all my mp3s and flac files but not mp4. Anyone know why as these files played on my old phone so I shouldn't think there would be an issue with the newer one.

Just download an app to play them, there are tons that can do it.  For video, I think MX Player is a solid choice, and I use Poweramp for audio (although I don't remember if it has a free version.)
