1. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Excellent album. Most artists start getting worse and worse, but this album IMO is his second best, first being Late Registration. Production is at a completely new level and way better than whatever he has previously done. Lyrically, Kanyes best work. Only reason this doesnt beat Late Registration is because of the lack of songs and how we have heard half the album before. Also, I have to admit most of the songs just arent relatable like in his past albums. 4.4/5
2. Nas and Damian Marley - Distant Relatives - The son of Bob Marley plus the creator of one of the best rap albums of all time is obviously going to the product of pure genius. This is what exactly happened. Every song is great, however I felt Nas only truly showed his skilled lyricism in a few of the songs like Strong Will Continue, Count Your Blessings, and Tribes at War. Production is very nice, lyricism is good, and the overall message is definitely important. 4.2/5
3. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs - I have to say that I havent listened to their past work but this is a great album. Not much to say, but it is a very haunting album and I love alot of things about it. 4/5
4. N.E.R.D. - Nothing - Their 3rd weakest album, and it is still great. Love the funky vibe they went with on this. I also felt that they used the guest features very nicely, especially T.I. 3.8/5
5. Tie between Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns and Broken Bells- Broken Bells. Linkin Park went with a very different album, however it had too many snippets and only about 2/3 of the actual songs were truly amazing. Broken Bells had a great album but sadly it doesnt seem to have any particular standout songs, just songs to chill too. 3.5/5 for both albums.
