Well, I got a 2002 Oryx Gemsbok for $300 at a pawn shop
.
It's got Shimano XTR components (mostly I think), along with Bombers (I think) and Fox Floats (I'm sure of that one) ....I know nothing about bikes, but I think that that was an incredible deal. The frame is a very fragile carbon frame though apparently, but I ride light, so it should last a few years. I'll get a stronger alluminium or carbon frame when that one goes.
It's in need of a major tune up though. I'm gonna pay $120 to have it ripped apart, cleaned, and put back together like new. Then it should be a nice ride
