I have $200 to spend, should I get a soundcard, or a amp/dac? What are the pro's and cons of each? Which would sound better? Thanks

I'm currently using a crappy intergrated soundcard

The Bithead is a very convinent all-in-one solution, and the revised version has gotten nothing but praise. We could split it up, of course, into two boxes - silverstone eb01 + Portaphile X^3, which would cost $230 plus shopping, or get a custom built Pimeta, but the Bithead is definately the safe choice.

If you can expand you budget a bit occasionally millets go for ~$200-230.

You should mention what cans this will be for.

I plan on getting the HD580, so I would need something with some power. I not good with my hands, so I don't know how I'll mod the soundcard.

HD580s are great. They aren't that difficult to drive. The Millet + 580s is a lushish winner in my book.
