So I know basically nothing about this stuff so I want to see if anyone here can offer some advice.
So here the things I will be listening to and when and some other things.

: I listen to alot of older heavy metal, classic rock, and power metal
: Will be gaming and watching movies a lot with this setup
: I most likely will be using these both at school (either with my s3 or my Ipod classic) and at home (I have this http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4953#ov motherboard if that means anything)
: They have to look not to bad like the hd598 ot the ATH-M50xBL

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Well, I guess you'll be needing a closed-back headphone to start with. Open-backed headphones like the HD598 are not so good for when you are at school (sound leaks both ways). For long term comfort over-ears are better than on-ears.

The Sennheiser Momentums are good looking over-ears for less than $200 (see link) and with good sound. If your ears are not too large, these headphones should be comfortable too.
