Since teflon coated copper/silver wire goes for approximately $0.50/$2.50 per foot, I though I'd do some weaving.

Are weaves just glorified twisted pairs? What improvements does a 3 wire weave have over a 3 twisted wires? Do weaves need shielding? Does mixing copper and silver (different materials) in the same weave ruin the shielding effect of weaving?

Also, I never expected 1. to be answered.

In my opinion they just look pretty. They can also make the cable less awkward to use e.g. Headphone cable. If you are using them for stereo weave separately for left and right.
