The options:
Tear apart my Carver C-1 to refurbish (clean all pots, recap, etc)

replace with a Lexicon MC-1 in 2-Channel mode that is lying around the warehouse after a customer upgraded to a new Lexicon Processor?

Which will sound better? Sources are Tuner, Squeezebox, Onix XCD-99 (Music Hall CD25 copy).

The amp is a very robust Soundcraftsmen MA5002a

This is the time for me to tear the system apart because my speakers are sitting in a Hifi shop on consignment so I can buy a new pair. I will probably end up with a pair of Revel F12, F52, or wait until June for the new Performa3 speakers to start shipping.

Discuss.

Also, please list any recommended mods for the XCD or the Carver if you have any experience. Thanks.

One last question: Is this the best place for this thread on these forums? (mods, feel free to relocate it if the answer is no)
