I've been contemplating the same thing, though mine is a bit more difficult since my stereo setup is balanced, and the multichannel isn't

you can not connect two amps to one speaker set unless its in a bi-amp form (which kind of would be useless) SAFELY. only way is maybe a box but i never seen such in a reversed way or....

when you use the multichannel un connect the stereo and do the same for the stereo..only connect one amp at a time! if you connect both amps to one set of speakers you'll take out the amps and the speakers..

its kind of like asking if you can drive in first while driving in reverse and if its safe on the Trans...

Well, I was thinking of setting up the stereo setup preamp hooked up to the front left and right power amps, then picking up some sort of line out from the multi-channel amp and feeding that to the secondary input of the stereo setup preamp. Main issue I see with this would be level matching the multi-channel setup.
